Editorial Assistant

Our Editorial Assistant will support the Curriculum Development team, both in administrative and editorial functions.  In this position, your responsibilities will include:

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the curriculum director and the senior academic officer.
  • Preparing purchase orders for contractor and development vendors.
  • Preparing invoices for review and payment
  • Acting as the liaison between Curriculum Development team and other Carnegie Learning departments.
  • Preparing documents for author meetings.

Editorial Responsibilities:

  • Creating correlations of Carnegie Learning math products to state/national standards.
  • Copyediting manuscripts and proofread design set pages.
  • Reviewing pages at second and third page in editorial review process.
  • Writing or rewriting manuscript as assigned.
  • Preparing and organizing resources for authors.
  • Handling special projects.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • B.S. in mathematics or mathematics education.
  • Desire to cultivate a career in educational publishing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and writing skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure.
