Shifts in Instruction: Preparing Students for Smarter Balanced
Kasey Bratcher joined the Carnegie Learning team part time in May, 2008 as a Certified Implementation Specialist and transitioned to full time as a Manager of School Partnerships in July, 2011. As the Director of Professional Development, she is now responsible for ensuring and expanding the work of Carnegie Learning’s PD field staff whose work ranges from design to implementation to evaluation. Before joining Carnegie Learning full time, Kasey taught middle and high school mathematics for eight years and served as a Mathematics Consultant and coach for the largest Educational Cooperative in Kentucky. In her classroom, Kasey was also a model teacher of Carnegie Learning’s curricula and software and welcomed visitors from all over the southeast United States.
Liz Storey serves as a partnership liaison and trainer for Carnegie Learning's professional development services including the Teacher Academies, Instructional Rounds Institutes, school improvement, and implementation of common core standards. Often the point-of-contact for school administrators in Carnegie Learning schools, she brings to the position 25 years of experience working with school leaders at the district, regional, and state levels. She also currently serves as the Director of the KY Superintendents' Network which focuses on professional learning opportunities for KY's 173 school superintendents. She has directed over $40 million in state and federal grants funds while leading multiple instructional initiatives from the local to the national level.
