Carnegie Learning Algebra 1 Named Best K-12 Instruction Solution |

| Software & Information Industry Association Recognizes Carnegie Learning with 2007 Codie Award SAN FRANCISCO, CA, April 18, 2007 -- Carnegie Learning, Inc.’s Algebra I solution has received the 22nd Annual Codie Award for Best K-12 Instruction Solution given each year by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). The SIIA utilizes both journalist and peer-company reviews to identify the leaders and innovators in 75 categories across the software, digital content and education technology industries. This year’s winners were chosen from more than 1,197 nominations – the most in the history of the Codies – for the excellence of their products, services, corporate leadership and philanthropy. The awards were presented at a black-tie gala last night at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco and attended by hundreds technology executives. The judges for the first round of voting included journalists from industry trade publications, technology writers from mainstream publications, consultants, and other industry experts. SIIA member companies voted in the second round of selection. “I applaud all the companies selected as winners or finalists in this year’s Codie Awards,” said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. “The software and information industry continues to move at a break-neck pace. New technology and business model innovations are constantly emerging and taking root. Being recognized by your peers for getting to and staying at the head of the pack in such a dynamic environment is a major accomplishment, and it is one of the reasons why the Codie Awards hold such a special place in our industry.” Carnegie Learning’s math programs are based on cognitive science research at Carnegie Mellon University studying how students think, learn, and apply new knowledge in mathematics. Carnegie Learning’s research-based curricula are increasingly at the forefront of high school transformation initiatives in large urban areas such as Los Angeles Unified School District; Miami-Dade, and in the Chicago Public Schools, where the curricula are being piloted with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
