Learning by Doing Leader Awards
About the Award
The Learning by Doing Leader Awards program will recognize and reward outstanding accomplishments of teachers in the Carnegie Learning classroom. This is an opportunity for colleagues to nominate and recognize their peers.
Each Learning by Doing Leader will:
- Receive an all-expense paid trip to the 2012 Carnegie Learning National Math Institute (valued at $2,000), July 11-14, 2012 in Nashville, TN and an honorary plaque
- Be recognized in the Carnegie Learning Newsletter and on the Carnegie Learning Resource Center
All educators nominated for the 2012 Learning by Doing Leader Awards will receive a certificate of recognition.
How to Nominate Your Colleagues
To nominate a teacher, please download the Nomination Packet (PDF) or read the requirements below. Educators may nominate as many teachers as they wish but must complete one nomination form per teacher.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Learning by Doing Leader Award, the nominated leader must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be nominated by an instructional leader in his or her school or district
- Be currently teaching or supervising with Carnegie Learning curricula
- Provide evidence of exemplary instructional data
- Maintain a student-centered interactive Carnegie Learning classroom and/or computer lab
- Be willing to participate in a three-to-five minute video about his or her experiences with Carnegie Learning
- Be willing to speak to the press about his or her successes
Requirements
Before submitting your nomination, please review the following checklist and submission guidelines to ensure your nomination packet is complete.
Your nomination must include:
- Nomination Form - Completed by nominating educator (pages 2,3 and 4)
- Nominee Statement - Completed by nominee (page 5)
- Nominee Consent - Completed by nominee (page 6)
- Nominee photograph submitted by email or mail(Be sure that the teacher's name is in the body of the email so we can match it to the correct application. If you are unable to email a photo, please mail it to the address below)
