Family Math Night is a program that brings parents into their child's classroom to experience first-hand how the Cognitive Tutor helps children learn math. Students and their teacher work together to assist parents in solving mathematics problems using the Cognitive Tutor program.
As a result, parents gain a better understanding of, and appreciation for, their child's mathematics curriculum. Carnegie Learning firmly believes that when parents are aware of and involved in their school's mathematics program, students benefit from increased support and encouragement.
Carnegie Learning has developed an entire portfolio of materials to help schools prepare for and implement a successful Family Math Night. These materials include a planning timeline, sample invitations, a PowerPoint presentation, sample problems and publicity materials.
