OUR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS

Regional Professional Development

Attending a Regional session is a cost-effective solution for schools and districts requiring Professional Development for several teachers. Educators from many schools come together, and as they learn about Cognitive Tutor curricula, they have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from one another.

  • Three days
  • Priced per teacher
  • Regional sessions occur at a site and time designated by Carnegie Learning
  • Travel, lodging, and meal expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

On-Site Professional Development

For schools and districts requiring Professional Development for more than 7 teachers, an onsite session is ideal. As a customer, you select the site and Carnegie Learning provides the Implementation Specialist and resources. Selected sites must have a computer lab, LCD projector, whiteboard, a viewing screen, and access to a separate classroom. The onsite option gives you greater flexibility and the opportunity to customize portions of the Professional Development to meet the specific needs of your school.

  • Three days
  • Onsite professional development is designed for a maximum of 25 participants
  • Priced per day

Teleconference

This Professional Development option is available for software-only implementations. This two-hour session requires access to the Internet and a speakerphone must be available at the site. (Priced per session)

Carnegie Learning's Professional Development Programs Align Teaching with Learning

Each day of the workshop has a specific emphasis:

  • Day One: Orientation and Introduction
  • Day Two: Student-Centered Classrooms
  • Day Three: Assessment and Planning

While this format provides structure and specificity for each day, other elements are incorporated to provide a sound foundation for all facets of implementation including continued reinforcement of teaching and learning research, overview of the Cognitive Tutor curricula, and integrating technology.
