New resources for classroom-based professional development will be previewed that support the Standards for Mathematical Practice. The K-12 professional development modules will utilize video, student work, and instructional best practices.
National Council of Supervisors of Math (NCSM)
Suzanne Mitchell is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and she is also the Program Director for the U. S. Department of Education’s Improving Teacher Quality grant funds for the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. She has served on the NCSM Board of Directors for the past three years as the Southern 2 Regional Director. Previously, she was a mathematics educator for 40 years in Pulaski County Special School District in Little Rock, Arkansas and also mathematics and science coordinator in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. She is In addition she is the Executive Director of the Arkansas STEM Coalition.

Oakland Schools in Michigan
Mills is currently Supervisor and Mathematics Education Consultant for Oakland Schools, a Michigan intermediate agency serving 28 districts and 240,000 students. Beginning as a high school mathematics teacher 35 years ago, she has also served as Mathematics Department Chair, Mathematics Coordinator and Director of Curriculum in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor school districts in Michigan. Her resent research interests include a middle school mathematics professional development project, Beyond Implementation: Focus On Challenge And Learning (BI:FOCAL), and a Mathematics/Science Partnership project Developing Excellence in Learning and Teaching Algebra (DELTA) grades 7-11with 15 high needs school districts.
