The Impact of High School Redesign on Teaching Mathematics
March 4, 2009Secondary schools across the nation are turning their focus on how to ensure their students will meet college and career expectations. High school redesign efforts have resulted in improving the rigor of high school courses and introducing exit exams or end of course tests. How well are students meeting the new expectations? What is being done to assist students who may be underprepared and may have gaps in their understanding of mathematics? What strategies are being implemented to help students pass math courses and ensure they graduate from high school on time? In this webinar session we hear from educators who have designed high school math courses that are strengthening student understanding of mathematics and seeing stronger pass rates on courses and examinations.
